Gizzy Kai Rescue
Gizzy Kai Rescue is a Gisborne based not-for-profit food rescue organisation operating as the connection between food growers, producers, vendors and local community groups who redistribute the rescued food to those experiencing food scarcity in our region. Here at Gizzy Kai Rescue, we are passionate about the possibilities food rescue delivers for both our community and our environment. We rescue food that would otherwise be destined for landfill or animal feed, reducing food waste and redirecting the healthy edible food to those in need throughout the community.
Available Roles:
Cleaner at food rescue site
Floors and cleaning - this is a vital role in our food rescue operation. Suited to person/s that has a limited amount of time available each week.
Youth Board Member
Attend board meetings as the youth member
Weekend Pickup up driver
Collect rescue kai from specified providers and deliver back to our site.
Handy Person
You will have no set days but may be available to do odd jobs. You will have a variety of skills, maybe a jack of all trades.
