Kai sort team member/s - Saturday

Organisation:
Gizzy Kai Rescue
Category:
Practical Help
Hours:
Both/Flexible
Location:
Gisborne

Here at Gizzy Kai Rescue, we are passionate about the possibilities food rescue delivers for both our community and our environment. We rescue food that would otherwise be destined for landfill or animal feed, reducing food waste and redirecting the healthy edible food to those in need throughout the community.

Join a team of 2-3 people or get your friends together to come as a group to this micro volunteering role. As part of the sorting team your task will be to sort through the rescued kai checking best before, expire dates and freshness then pack into boxes to allocate it to recipient groups. This is perfect after an early walk, before heading to sport, or the farmers market. This rapid and rewarding role with our well organised charity offers high impact for our community and the environment by preventing food waste.

Volunteers will undergo an induction process before starting.

Join the crew of over 35 Gizzy Kai Rescue volunteers on a mission towards 'No Waste, No Hunger'! We proudly have volunteers ranging from 15 - 85 years, representing diverse backgrounds, skills, ethnicities and beliefs. We hold quarterly volunteer gatherings for those who wish to connect; e.g. morning tea, croquet, yoga, mid-winter lunch and more!
