Emergency Volunteering
Volunteers fulfil a range of roles in an emergency, including community coordination, practical tasks, welfare, logistics, intel services and more. Devoting your time to volunteering with Civil Defence can be both rewarding and challenging.
The Gisborne Volunteer Centre maintains a database of people who are happy to be contacted for assistance in the event of a Civil Defence, or other, emergency.
Would you like to help out? Here's how it works:
- Complete the application with your contact details and skills that you have to offer (you must be 18+ and live in Gisborne).
- If an emergency situation arises, your details are made available to Civil Defence or the relevant lead agency.
- Depending on the situation, you may be contacted and asked if you can assist.
- You can change your details or opt out at any time
