Nurture our OSCAR programme children by engaging with them in their favourite activities. Our motto is: 'Every child goes home with something made, something learnt and an experience. OSCAR - (Out of School Care and Recreation) deliver before and after school care and holiday programmes for children aged 5 to 13. Bring your skills, interests and abilities along and engage with children who have similar interests. Children love tinkering, crafts, being read to, being outside, Our current 'Play Stations' include Lego, Building Blocks, Colouring in, Outdoor Play, Playdough Day, Jig Saw Puzzles. We develop play stations in line with what children focus on. Our children come from a diverse range of nationalities, abilities and interests. Our afternoon starts at 2:30pm with a snack of whatever is in our cupboard, sometimes even baking from our kitchen! This is a casual volunteer role, you choose when you are available to lend a helping hand.

Requirements:

Belief in nurturing a child's natural curiosity and enthusiasm
Happy and calm disposition
Ability to engage with children on their level
Comfortable in an active environment

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

For as long as you can assist between 2:30 and 5:00. Any day/s between Monday and Friday.
