Assist us in the preparation for and delivery of our cooking workshops to build community confidence and practical skills in the kitchen. All volunteer contributions are appreciated, recognised and celebrated.

  • Supporting our Staff Community Navigator you will
  • Help to set up and clean down workshop spaces
  • Support community learners during the cooking workshop
  • Provide encouragement and guidance as they work through their task
  • Lend a hand helping to keep the learner’s workspace clean and tidy
  • Ensure compliance with food handling hygiene requirements
  • Bring some fun energy into the workshop, a little bit of laughter goes a long way
Requirements:

You will be a person who

  • loves to cook and can navigate your way around any kitchen
  • enjoys helping others to learn new skills
  • Communicates well with a diverse range of people
  • Supports a fun, energised environment
  • A bonus, but not essential for this role is any food handling certifications you might have or experience working in a commercial kitchen.

This role is open to anyone 16+ who has the confidence to guide others and enjoys cooking.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Our workshops run during school terms on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday for six consecutive weeks for two hours each session. Preparation and close down time is additional.
