Category:

Hours:
Both/Flexible
Location:
Gisborne

Help bring SheCreatesTairāwhiti events to life and create welcoming spaces for wāhine artists to connect and thrive.

SheCreatesTairāwhiti runs monthly social networking catch-ups at local cafés and is growing opportunities for wāhine artists to be involved in creative community projects, exhibitions, and future workshops. We’re looking for an Events Coordinator (or two!) to help organise and support these activities behind the scenes.

In this role, you’ll help with event design and planning details, communicating with venues and artists, promoting upcoming gatherings, and making sure events run smoothly on the day. Some tasks are practical and organised, others are creative and people-focused.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys bringing people together and likes seeing ideas turn into real community experiences. You’ll be part of a supportive, grassroots group that’s passionate about uplifting wāhine artists and building stronger creative connections in Tairāwhiti.

No formal event experience is needed. If you’re organised, friendly, and happy to pitch in, we’d love to hear from you.

Good fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys planning and organising community activities
  • Likes connecting with people and creating welcoming spaces
  • Has good communication and time management skills
  • Cares about supporting local wāhine artists and creative communities
Requirements:

We’re looking for someone reliable, organised, and comfortable communicating with different people. Confidence using social media, email, or basic online tools would be helpful, but support can be provided. A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team are most important.

Time commitment:

The time commitment varies depending on events. Hours volunteered to fit around your current work and life commitments. Let's have a chat to see what works for you.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
