Inaugural Board Member

As a trustee you will play an important governance role working together as part of our team to provide guidance, oversight and leadership for our operations team. This is a new role in a new potential not for profit organisation whose aim is to stimulate awareness and promote respect for art and culture, and create a positive atmosphere for the community to come together with creativity and connection. Experience on a board isn't necessary but certainly a bonus. Being a trustee can be a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully, by supporting local talent.

Requirements:

As a trustee you would:

  • Support the vision, values and long-term direction of St Andrews Arts Centre
  • Help to ensure the organisation is financially sustainable and well governed
  • Attend board meetings as a good listener and be confident in offering your own thoughts during discussions
  • Advocate for the arts centre within the community and help build positive relationships
  • Support fundraising, sponsorship and community engagement opportunities
  • Assist with monitoring risks, policies and legal responsibilities to ensure good practice
  • Assist with supporting and overseeing the manager or leadership team while respecting operational boundaries
