Digital Setup for Potential Community Arts Centre

Organisation:
St Andrews Community Arts Centre
Category:
IT
Hours:
Both/Flexible
Location:
Gisborne

Help us lay the digital foundations for a community-led project working to purchase and transform St Andrews Church into an arts hub.

We’re a passionate local group forming a charitable trust with the goal of buying St Andrews Church and repurposing it into a thriving arts and culture space for Tairāwhiti. With its incredible acoustics and potential for music, visual art, performance and more, we see this as a future home for creativity in our region.

Right now, we’re in the early stages. We’re getting organised, setting up the trust, and preparing to fundraise so we can purchase the buildings.

We’re looking for someone who’s confident with tech to help us get set up online. This includes creating email accounts, setting up a Facebook page, building a Givealittle page, and helping with a few other practical tasks that will support our fundraising and visibility.

This role can be short-term to help us get up and running, or it could grow into something ongoing if that suits you.

You’ll be joining a committed group who are genuinely excited about what this space could become.

Good fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys setting up digital tools and making things easy to use
  • Likes being part of a grassroots, community-driven project
  • Is happy to take initiative and problem-solve
  • Cares about arts, culture, and creative spaces in Tairāwhiti
Requirements:
  • Comfortable using email, social media, and online platforms
  • Reliable and able to follow through on agreed tasks
  • Communicates clearly and works well with others
  • No formal qualifications needed, just practical tech confidence
Time commitment:

Flexible. A few hours initially to get systems set up, with optional ongoing involvement depending on your availability and interest.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
