Art Group Support

This weekly art group brings together people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions to get creative, have a chat, and enjoy a change of scene.

As a volunteer, you’ll be there to help the session run smoothly and make everyone feel comfortable. Participants work on different art projects at their own level, so your role is more about being present than teaching. You might help someone get set up, pass materials, assist in the kai break or tidy up.

You’ll be alongside the MS Field Officer, who runs the group most weeks, and the art tutor who joins monthly.
No art skills needed. What matters most is your attitude.

This group helps people stay connected, express themselves and enjoy something different from their usual routine.

This opportunity is a good fit for someone who:

  • Is calm, patient, and happy to go with the flow
  • Feels comfortable around people with health conditions or disabilities
  • Enjoys building genuine connections
  • Might have experience in caring, support work, or simply enjoys helping others
Requirements:
  • Friendly, respectful and approachable
  • Reliable
  • Happy to help with simple tasks and be part of a team
  • Can provide physical support if needed (for example, helping with materials or moving around the space)

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
