Every year, The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal is a lifeline for Kiwis in desperate need. With the cost-of-living crisis hitting hard, even working families are struggling to afford the basics. Money raised during the appeal provides wraparound care that helps people with immediate needs of food, housing and services including budgeting, counselling etc. As a volunteer donation collector, you will be added to a roster to cover the eight locations within Gisborne, each with varying lengths of time available to select from for your shift. There are seven sit down locations and one walking. More information will be provided by the organiser once you have registered your interest.

Requirements:

Friendly and approachable
Dependable - a roster will be in place
Comfortable with receiving cash donations
Eftpos experience a bonus, but an easy to use eftpos machine with instructions is in place and will be demonstrated to volunteers

Time commitment:

1-2 hours or more if you are up to it
