Do you love baking?
Would you like to volunteer from the comfort of your own kitchen?
Keen to spread a little kindness in Tairāwhiti?
GBB are looking for home bakers (no need to be a pro) to be part of their mission to share treats and smiles with those who need it most.
Bakers are asked to take on at least one rostered spot each month.
Each month you can set your own preferences for how often and which days you are available.
You can easily update your availability if you are away or want a break.
Cake boxes and ingredient flyers are provided so you can pack your baking safely, share what’s inside, and even add a personal note to let recipients know it came from a real person.
All baking is good baking. You decide what to bake and you don't need to be a patisserie chef or have a big budget.
Just make one batch of baking for each box. A batch is a cake, or a slice, or a batch of scones or cupcakes – you don’t have to fill the box to bursting. Our recipients tell us how many boxes they need for the people they work with so if you do heaps extra, it may get wasted.
As little as one bake a month – a small act that makes a big difference.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
