About the Role:
As a Committee Member, you will work collaboratively with other volunteers and Blind Low Vision NZ staff to support and represent the interests of our clients at a local level. The committee helps plan and support community activities and events and ensures accessibility and inclusion for blind/low vision clients.
Key Responsibilities: Attend bi-monthly committee meetings (held in person), provide insights and feedback to help shape local initiatives, assist in identifying community needs and opportunities for engagement, support and participate in local events, client activities, and events.

We are looking for individuals who: Are based in the Gisborne region and have an interest in the work of Blind Low Vision NZ, have a genuine commitment to improving the lives of people who are blind or have low vision, possess good communication and teamwork skills, and bring experience in community work, governance, or lived experience of blindness/low vision (beneficial but not essential).
Attending bi-monthly meetings (held locally), and support special events, i.e., our Mid-Winter Christmas Lunch.
