CGCU is looking for dedicated volunteers to step into the role of Officer Cadet.

What We’re Looking For:
The New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF) is for teenagers aged 13 to 18 or have started High School.
⚡ We are aiming to Recruit at least 4 volunteer candidates to fill these critical roles.
✔ Committed Individuals – Minimum 2 years.
✔ Team Players – Work together to support and grow our volunteer base.
✔ Fit & Ready – Physical fitness and genuine interest in the role.
✔ Vetted & Approved – Candidates must pass our selection process.
What's involved:
On a parade night a list of jobs can vary from fitting a cadet with uniform, teaching a lesson, completing compliance paperwork, planning activities, making sure we are complying with policy documents, managing relationships with caregivers and other stakeholders.
On an activity you may be tasked to help get equipment ready before the exercise, run a section of the activity, help manage cadets, manage equipment on the activity, cook and clean etc.

We’re looking for individuals who:
Are 18 years or older
Can pass our vetting process
Hold a full, clean NZ driver's licence
Have a genuine desire to be a positive role model for youth
Are willing to commit, learn, and grow with us
Ideally have experience in cadets, military, volunteering, outdoors, education, or youth work (not required—training is provided)
Want to be part of our Tairāwhiti community and CGCU whānau
The unit meets Tuesday's 1800 hrs - 2100 hrs (6:00pm - 9:00pm)
Additional activities and commitments outside of these times and advised prior.
