Join us as we grow great communities! We are looking for a volunteer host to be a part of our amazing team as we support rural communities in all aspects of education as well as driver licensing.

Be a welcoming face at our Wairoa office, bring your own projects along or help with ours, there's always something to do! You will greet and connect visitors with the services or team member they need. If you have an interest in event and project coordination, help our programs come to life and tackle administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis.

A bit more about Tairāwhiti REAP and what we do -
Programs and Projects: Tairāwhiti REAP hosts various community-led programs and projects where we provide administrative support, logistical assistance, and organisational guidance. Current initiatives include hosting driver licensing programs, ECE support groups, or digital literacy workshops.

Community Engagement and Collaboration: Tairāwhiti REAP actively fosters community engagement by facilitating networking opportunities and promoting collaborative partnerships. This involves connecting individuals, groups, and organisations with shared interests, and creating platforms for knowledge sharing and collective action while ensuring all community members are acknowledged and respected. This includes building strong relationships with Iwi, and other community groups.

Facilitating Access to Education and Training: Tairāwhiti REAP acts as a gateway to educational and training opportunities, providing information, guidance, and support to individuals seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge. This includes hosting workshops, seminars, and training programs, as well as providing access to online learning resources.

Requirements:
  • Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Good sense of humour
  • Empathy and commitment to Tairāwhiti's rural communities
Time commitment:

Flexible, it could be 2 hours a week, half a day per fortnight, or something else.
