As a unique part of Te Aka Ora, Te Whare Whai Hua (TWWH) is a Ministry of Education (MOE) accredited Early Childhood Centre nestled in the heart of Lytton High School. Te Whare Whai Hua opened in the early 2000's as an initiative to support the Lytton High School Teen Parent Unit with their pēpi. It was developed to enable teen māmā to continue to their educational journey, while having their pēpi close by.

One of the barriers to getting tamariki to our Early Childhood Centre is transport. We're helping our whānau by dropping tamariki home in the afternoons - and we need volunteer(s) to help with this.

Staff will put tamariki into their carseats around 2 - 2:15pm. The volunteer van driver will drive them home to their whanau and return van back to the Centre.

Requirements:
  • Full driver licence
  • Reliable, responsible and committed

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Mon - Fri, 1 - 2 hours term time. While we would love someone to fill all 5 afternoon shifts; we'd love to hear from you if you can help with 1 afternoon only.
