Steering Committee Members

Big Brothers Big Sisters was launched in Gisborne in March 2023, matching up adults (18 and over) with young people (6-12years) who would benefit from an additional supporting, consistent adult role model.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Gisborne Tairāwhiti is seeking dynamic individuals to join our Steering Committee. We are particularly looking for people with established networks, especially in the corporate sector, and experience in fundraising or securing funding.

As a Steering Committee member, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us grow our impact by leveraging your connections and expertise to support our networking and fundraising initiatives. Together, we can empower tamariki in our community and create brighter futures.

Requirements:
  • Enthusiasm to drive the Big Brothers Big Sisters programmes in Gisborne Tairāwhiti
  • Community engagement and strong networks within Gisborne Tairāwhiti
  • Fundraising experience
  • Willingness to attend regular committee meetings (TBC)
  • Governance knowledge preferred but not essential
