Board Chair

As Chair of the Gisborne Volunteer Centre Board you will provide guidance to board members on meeting requirements and member responsibilities. Participate in decision-making around policies, strategic planning, budgeting and other board responsibilities. Support management by being available for discussion on administrative decisions, issues, and suggestions on how to meet the strategic goals. Present a positive organisation image to funders, the local not for profit sector, community businesses and the general public

Requirements:
  • A keen interest in the not for profit sector
  • Previous board chair knowledge/experience is a bonus but training is available to the right enthusiastic person
  • Knowledge of meeting protocols and management
  • Commitment to implementing procedures and planning that reflect positively on Tairawhiti's volunteer community
Time commitment:

Our meetings are currently monthly on the second Monday at 5:30pm for about an hour. Time for meeting agenda creation and reading board docs required prior to meetings and completing any actions (if required) post meeting, Total approx. 2.5hours monthly
