Budget Service Committee Member

Ever wanted to help people get ahead financially? Moni Ora's governance committee is looking for new members to help oversee the direction of this local budget service.

We all know how tight money can feel sometimes. Nearly everyone has faced a financial rough patch at some point, and Moni Ora has been helping the community through those times since the early 1960s. As a committee member, you'll help make sure that support stays effective, relevant, and true to its kaupapa for years to come.

You'll join a small team of about 6 to 8 governance volunteers who meet monthly to discuss general matters, review service outputs, set strategic direction, and evaluate policy, always with an eye on keeping Moni Ora's services aligned with community needs.

You'd be a good fit if you:

  • Have strategic planning or marketing experience
  • Bring a mature, level-headed approach
  • Are genuinely interested in helping people get ahead through budgeting support
Requirements:
  • Able to attend most monthly meetings (occasional absence is fine)
  • Able to pass a clean slate records check from the Ministry of Justice

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Monthly meetings, 1 to 2 hours
  • Option to join a sub-committee for projects, strategic planning, or other activities
  • No meeting in January
  • AGM held in October or November, as decided by the committee
