Te Wiremu House is located in Te Hapara, and offers rest home care, hospital care, and dementia care. Our residents can feel lonely sometimes and that's where a 'Social Companion' steps in.

When you visit, you'll provide our residents with a meaningful interaction and brighten their day. Share stories or read with them - sharing in their past or current interests. Tell them about yourself and learn about them - let them reminisce. Your presence will help reduce their feelings of loneliness and promote better well-being for both our residents and yourself!

It can take time to build a bond with our residents, so we ask that you commit and give time to build relationships with our residents.

Requirements:
  • Empathy for the elderly
  • Friendly and patient
  • Committed and reliable

A Police background check is required for this role.
