Activity Group Assistant

The Sherwood Club delivers a day service (Mon, Wed, Fri) to people with dementia who are still living in the community. We've created a space where they can come together for engaging and stimulating activities. We're on the lookout for energetic, positive volunteers to assist and motivate our guests with a variety of activities and exercise. Your role will include setting up, packing down, and occasionally serving morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

Requirements:
  • Patience and a good rapport with the elderly and people with dementia.
  • An enthusiastic, positive and friendly attitude.
  • A team member attitude with a good conversational English.
  • Training and support will be given.
  • Volunteers applying for this role need to be fully vaccinated for Covid 19 and have proof of vaccination.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

2 - 5 hours one day per week on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday (or up to 3 days per week if you want more!). If you are only able to do a couple a days per month, we are still interested in talking to you - we have plenty of activities and board games to play!
