Hospice Tairāwhiti provides community based hospice care for the people of Tairāwhiti, from Mōrere to Pōtaka. Hospice or palliative care is specialised care for people with life limiting conditions. Our focus is on improving quality of life for the person and providing support for the whānau.
We’re looking for warm, welcoming volunteers to greet visitors and support them during their time with us. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting people and offering kindness in a calm environment.
Key responsibilities include:
This role can be quiet at times, so volunteers are welcome to bring a book, knitting, or another quiet activity. Extra tasks may be available for those who want to stay busy.
Full orientation, training and support is provided.
Volunteers work on a weekly roster, with casual/on-call opportunities available. Shifts are Monday - Friday; 9am - 12:30pm and 12:30pm - 4pm.
