Come and join a rewarding team of volunteers at Lytton High School who help mostly year 9 students (13-year-olds) improve their reading.
We run a structured literacy programme with books, worksheets and games that is easy for you to deliver. The work is set, you just do the one to one learning support.
The programme runs during term 2 and 3 with two weeks holiday in between, so from April to September each year. You can choose to see one student or stay for a bit longer and see three students. All lessons are one to one and each lesson is 40 minutes. Most lessons are from 11am to 1pm.
We are flexible, so if you are going away we can work around this. It's a great opportunity to get out and exercise your brain during winter. We try to match the students to you and your strengths. We focus on success and fun, so be prepared to play some games! In term three we have lunch together to celebrate the year.
Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays in terms 2 and 3 each year.
