Telephone Information Service Narrator

Join a great bunch of volunteers on a monthly roster to record key articles from the Gisborne Herald onto a special phone service for vision impaired people to listen to the local news. You can do all this from the comfort of your own home, knowing that you are enabling a blind or person with low vision to listen to the local news on their home phone.

Requirements:

Have access to the newspaper on your rostered day
To be able to speak in a clear voice and read newspaper articles confidently.
To use the Blind Low Vision NZ Telephone Information Service - full training is provided.
Undergo BLVNZ general induction.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Flexible - from 20-30 minutes monthly.
