Coffin Club Workshop Helper

Retired or have spare time on your hands and skills to offer?
Volunteer ex carpenter/builder/joiner/handyman needed to assist with creating designer underground furniture.

We're a friendly, down-to-earth workshop looking for an ex-carpenter, builder, joiner, handyman or painter to help with the final stages of coffin making: sanding, painting, attaching hardware, or lending a hand to members decorating and personalising their own coffins.

Our aim is simple: reduce the financial burden on families who need a coffin by offering a more affordable, hands-on alternative. Every coffin you help finish makes a real difference to a family at a difficult time.

You'll be working alongside others who share stories, skills and a few laughs along the way. Some members know exactly what they want to do, others need a bit of guidance. You'll be there to support where needed.

Requirements:
  • Some basic practical skills like sanding or painting are helpful, but not essential
  • Comfortable working independently when needed
  • Respectful of others and their stories
  • Willing to follow workshop health and safety guidelines
Time commitment:
  • Flexible involvement on Saturday mornings between 9am and 12pm
  • Never on long weekends or public holidays
  • Not required to attend every week; talk to us about your availability

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
