We’re seeking a relief driver to assist members with vision impairment by providing transport to and from our Thursday social group at the Blind Foundation office.
Drop-off: 1:00pm
Pick-up: 3:00pm
You're welcome to stay and enjoy the group activity, which includes a warm cuppa and afternoon tea, or simply drop off and return later for collection. An induction will be provided, including training in sighted guiding to ensure you feel confident and supported in the role.
Full driver licence: You must hold a current, full New Zealand driver licence.
Insured vehicle: You’ll need access to a roadworthy vehicle with up-to-date registration and insurance.
Reliable and punctual: Being on time for both pick-up and drop-off is important to ensure members enjoy the full group experience.
Friendly and respectful manner: We’re looking for someone who enjoys engaging with others and supporting people in their community.
Willingness to complete induction and sighted guiding training (provided by Blind Low Vision NZ).
Time Commitment:
Thursdays, as required.
This is an on-call, relief position, meaning you’ll be contacted when one of our regular drivers is unavailable.
Hours: Approximately 1:00pm to 3:00pm, including transport to and from the Blind Foundation office.
This is a flexible volunteer opportunity—perfect if you’re available during the day and want to make a difference without needing to commit every week. Your support helps ensure members with vision impairment can continue to enjoy the connection and companionship of their weekly social group.
