Hospice Tairāwhiti provides community based hospice care for the people of Tairāwhiti, from Mōrere to Pōtaka. Hospice or palliative care is specialised care for people with life limiting conditions. Our focus is on improving quality of life for the person and providing support for the whānau.

Our bustling Hospice Shop, situated in the centre of town, raises funds to support the work of Hospice Tairawhiti, ensuring that services provided to patients and families remain free of charge.

We require shop volunteers to:

  • Greet and serve customers (using the till, handling eftpos and money)
  • Tidying the shop
  • Creating eye-catching displays and restocking as needed.

Applications welcome, and encouraged from High School students aged 14+

Requirements:
  • A friendly manner
  • Good communication skills
  • An effective team member
  • 14+

Training is available!

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We have a choice of morning or afternoon shifts:

  • 10:00am - 1:00pm (M - F)
  • 1:00pm - 4:00pm (M - F)
  • Saturday 10:00am - 2:00pm (flexible; open to 1-2 hours on Saturdays!)
