LandSAR is the national volunteer organisation within New Zealand providing Land Search & Rescue Services to the Police and public of New Zealand. If someone you know is potentially missing in the bush please call the Police first. LandSAR also provide WanderSearch (part of the Safe Walking Programme), a free programme for people with dementia or autism who regularly wander from home. The clients wear a tracking device which comes in two forms - wrist or necklace and each device has a unique frequency. The devices are turned on using a magnet and, once turned on, they emit an electronic pulse every 3 seconds which can be heard by using a receiver unit tuned to the unique frequency of the tracking device
