GVC Volunteer Boad Members Smiling at Christmas Wrapping fundraiser 2025

The Gisborne Volunteer Centre would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help with our Christmas gift wrapping fundraiser at The Warehouse.

Over the busy lead-up to Christmas, our volunteer gift wrappers helped shoppers tick one more thing off their to-do list while supporting volunteering in our region. Thanks to their generosity, patience, and wrapping skills, the fundraiser was a wonderful success.

By the numbers:

  • $4,057.98 raised after expenses

  • $870 covered the cost of paper and tape

  • 47 volunteers gave their time across the campaign including GVC staff and board members

  • 230 hours were logged!

As a not-for-profit organisation, fundraising plays an important role in enabling Gisborne Volunteer Centre to continue supporting volunteers and community groups throughout Tairāwhiti. Every wrapped gift contributed directly to strengthening our local volunteer community.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to The Warehouse for generously hosting us in their foyer once again, and to Business Applications for supplying the EFTPOS terminal, making it easy for shoppers to donate and support the cause.

Whether volunteers were seasoned Christmas wrappers or trying it for the first time, the atmosphere was full of good conversations, familiar faces, and new connections. It was a great reminder of how small acts of generosity can add up to a big impact.

To everyone who volunteered, donated, or stopped by for a wrapped gift, thank you for supporting volunteering in our community. We’re incredibly grateful and look forward to another year of good stuff together in 2026.
